In Pörtom we have the scenic Erklaspath going along a part of Närpes' stream. The path is 2 km long there and back. You get many opportunities to sit down and enjoy the environment. Along the path there are two barbeque areas so you can even bring a picnic. Here and there you can see different animals made out of wood. They are made by one of the villagers.
The village council of Pörtom is responsible for looking after the condition of the path, for instance they have built a bridge that crosses the stream so that you can go to a small island which you can explore. The naturepath is maintained between april and september, which is the best time to take a walk here. The terrain is however challenging and therefore not handicapped accessible.
You can either start your walk from the cemetery where there are signs or from the other side at the foot bridge. You find the foot bridge if you follow the signs with the text "Erklasstigen" from the church and through the residential area to Åbackvägen. The path starts at the stream on the right of the foot bridge.
